I'm sure that whoever told you that "nothing in life is free" or "you get what you pay for" had never heard of free gift cards and giveaways before.
Once you know where to look, you'll be amazed of how much free stuff you can find by doing barely anything, or often nothing at all.
I've made it my personal mission to check out some of the most popular websites for free giveaways and see which ones are the best, and most importantly legit. I've also included a list of helpful tips on how to avoid scammers and stay safe, because free giveaways websites are usually where scammers thrive.
Here are some of the most popular and more importantly safe websites where you can find lots of free giveaways in the form of game key giveaways, gift cards, gift codes and more.
We are always trying to save a few bucks, and in order to do that, we usually cut down on unnecessary stuff, and that unfortunately includes games as well. Unfortunately for us, games are more of a luxury than a necessity, which means that they will probably be among the first things that we'll need to consider cutting if we're on a tight budget or we need to make some cut backs.
This doesn't have to mean that you won't be able to continue playing some of your favorites and indulge yourself in the newest skins or other in-game items and cosmetics from the hottest games at the moment.
How can you possibly do that for free, you ask?
This article actually delves into a few sites where you can get games without having to pay any money - several of them will offer games that are completely free and some won't even require you to put any effort.
Here are a few of those sites:
Did you know that there are tons of websites out there that offer free gift cards for doing small tasks?
There are literally hundreds of places where you can earn free gift cards, but not all are safe and secure, which is why you have to be particularly careful.
One website where you can get free gift cards for doing surveys, sharing referral links, watching ads and other tasks is PointsPrizes. You can easily get enough points for doing small tasks, which you can then exchange for cash or gift cards.
There are tons of different gift cards available, including for: Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Ninetendo, Google Play, Minecraft, Fortnite, LoL, and many more.
If you didn't manage to find a free gift card that you can use, I suggest you look for gift cards on sites that have discounted gift cards, like: Gift Card Granny, Cardpool, Raise, WalletHub, and many more.
Getting your hands on free giveaways is not an impossible mission. You have a lot of different available opportunities that will get you tons of free things. However, as great as the number of such giveaways websites is, the number of scam websites can be equal, if not greater. These websites are set up to look like they offer free samples or gift cards, when in reality they just want to take and exploit your personal data and information.
Here are a few simple and easy steps to follow in order to avoid scammers and get free stuff the legitimate way.
1. Don't give out personal information
The only information that these free giveaway sites need to know is your name, email address, or your home address (if they want to send your gift cards to your door).
Unless you're buying a gift card, there's no reason for a website to require your credit card information, or not to mention - your social security number. That's why you need to be cautious and steer clear of websites that ask for this kind of information.
2. Don't use your private email
Set up another email account that you'll use to receive gift cards, promotions and other kinds of free giveaways.
Here's why that's the smart way to go.
You might stumble upon scammers or websites that will just sell your email address to marketing agencies that will later on use it to send you promotional emails all the time. What this means is that you'll constantly receive new emails from them and you'll have your private email full of promotional messages, which might make you miss your friends' or colleagues' emails by mistake.
3. Visit legitimate websites
If you're asked to provide too much personal information or are guaranteed something that seems too good to be true, chances are it is. Stay away from sites that have tempting, and unbelievably expensive giveaways.
If you're tempted by the offer by aren't sure if it's legitimate, look for a phone number or any kind of contact information and inquire about the offer. Try to get a bit more information about the offer, and avoid freebie scams that give out a vague explanation or answer regarding their offers.
Don't rush and blindly give away your personal info if you're not sure that the site is legit and can be trusted.
4. Double-check their domain name
Often times fraudulent websites use domain names that are similar to well-known, established brands to easily attract your attention and make you think you're dealing with a brand you know and can trust.
You should also double-check websites with domain names that end in .org or .net, since these are not usually used by online shopping or giveaways websites, so you might want to be more cautious with such websites.
5. Spend some time to browse the website
Get familiar with the website and check it out a bit first. Only after you can be sure that it's legit you can go ahead and make a purchase or get a free giveaway.
Here are some of the things that you might want to do to make sure that everything is ok with the website.
You should have a look at their home page, check out their "about us" section, see if they have listed their contact information, if there are a lot of grammar or spelling errors, and see if you find anything suspicious. If you're still not sure whether or not what you see is legit, you might want to write them an email and see what they write back, or simply give them a call and ask about the offer you're interested in.
6. Reviews, reviews, reviews!
And last but not least don't forget to read online customers reviews, or check out what people have to say about the websites on forums, such as Reddit or Quora.
You can also check out their social media accounts, if they have any, and see what people have to say about their service on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and so on.
Be aware that some websites often have fake reviews posted on their website, in order to attract more customers, by making them think that they have stumbled upon a safe and trusted website.
Luckily, these fake reviews that some companies have on their websites can usually be easily spotted.
Here are a few things that should be considered as red flags when it comes to website reviews:
I hope you found my tips and advice useful, and I hope that in the future it will be much easier for you to find free giveaways safely and without unnecessary hassles.
