This year might be ending, but that doesn't mean we're out of fantastic new horror movies to enjoy in 2019. Some of the largest hits of the year like to make their debut in October, which is truly the perfect time for a new horror favorite.

With some great new films from popular filmmakers still to release this year, there's a lot to look forward to. So make sure that you mark your calendars for these horror greats as they continue to flow out in the rest of 2019. You're sure to find at least a few that make you wish you had a nightlight!

In The Tall Grass - World Premier September 2019

It can be so easy to lose your sense of direction when the grass is taller than you are. You may find yourself wandering for hours looking for an escape. That's what a brother and sister duo find out when they head into a patch of tall Kansas grass in search of a boy calling out for help.

With no escape in sight, and something terrifying hiding among the grass, they'll have to fight to survive. You really can't go wrong with a film based on a Stephen King book, and this one involves the work of his son, Joe Hill, as well. In the Tall Grass, now has its debut date on Netflix

Little Monsters - November 15th, 2019

If you're a fan of dark comedy, then this is a film you're going to want to check out. It follows a teacher as she takes her class of young students on a field trip. Unfortunately, the area they're going to is currently on the brink of a zombie outbreak.

It's up to the teacher to fight off zombie attacks and figure out a means of escape, all while keeping the class unscathed and relatively calm. We all know how easily children can be frightened, and this film is one that will leave you wondering how one teacher can manage it all.

Itsy Bitsy - August 30th, 2019

If there's one thing that can ruin the excitement of a new home, it's finding out that you're sharing it with something very unpleasant. Over the years, we've all seen plenty of horror films that involve a family moving into a new home only to find it haunted, but that isn't the case here.

Instead, the home this family moves into is also home to an exceptionally large spider. One that will seek to hunt them down without being noticed. This is one instance where it may be perfectly valid to just burn the whole house down!

The Lighthouse - October 18th, 2019

The Lighthouse features an artistic view on the effects that isolation can have on people. If you're familiar with previous films starring Willem Dafoe, such as Antichrist, you know that they come with a flavor that is uniquely strange.

This flavor lends itself well to the story of a pair of lighthouse keepers while they strive to keep the ocean-bound ships safe. It takes place in the 1890s, meaning they have few forms of entertainment aside from one another. This is a film you'll want to check out if you're looking for something frightening and strange.

The Lodge - November 15th, 2019

Many might have memories of staying in a winter cabin that are quite warm and fun, but that won't be the case for the characters in this movie. When two children are left in a remote lodge with their future stepmother, they go digging for information that might be better left unseen.

Trapped inside by a vicious blizzard in the area, tension within the family combines with dark secrets that have come to light. It's up to them to work together in order to free themselves from the invisible chaos within the lodge. This is one you won't want to miss!

Eli - October 18th, 2019

Dealing with an auto-immune disorder is tough enough, but things get even harder on poor young Eli when he undergoes experimental treatments for his illness. Having tried everything else, it appears this aggressive treatment will be his last option. However, it might also become something else entirely.

Locked away from others to keep himself self, Eli begins to see and hear things that leave him wondering who he can really trust. You'll have to watch to find out whether this treatment is worth the torment, or whether it leaves him worse than he started. Check it out in mid October!

47 Meters Down: Uncaged - August 16th, 2019

If you weren't certain a shark film could get much more frightening than the original 47 Meters Down, you're about to be proven wrong. In this film, a group of teenage girls head out on a diving adventure, only to find some incredibly fascinating ruins.

Unfortunately, these ruins are also home to a group of great white sharks. Trapped in the ruins, the girls have to make their way through caves, tunnels and other obstacles in other to seek freedom. On top of everything, they have to do all of this before the sharks reach them, and before their air runs out.

Haunt - September 13th, 2019

The Houses October Built meets Eli Roth's special brand of gore in this upcoming film. If you're familiar with any of his previous movies, you'll know this is certainly not one to bring the little ones to. It's far more creepy than some of his most recent work.

Some fear haunted house attractions, while others crave the deepest fear they can achieve. When a group of friends go looking for that fear in a secret attraction, they may find they're in deeper than they expected. The frights become real in this terrifying tale, so get ready!

Ready Or Not - August 23rd, 2019

This is a film that brings a whole new meaning to wanting to kill your in-laws. It follows Grace, a blushing, beautiful new bride as she marries the perfect man. However, she then discovers that in order to really become part of the family, she's going to have to play a ruthless game of hide and seek.

Her in-laws have until dawn to hunt down the new bride, and they believe that the good of the whole family relies on this task. However, not all of them are the most proficient at hunting anything at all. This is a dark comedy you're sure to enjoy.

Doctor Sleep - November 8th, 2019

This new addition to the previous Stephen King film and novel, The Shining, brings a whole new meaning to what that ability means for those who have it. Struggling with trauma and alcohol due to the events that took place in his childhood, Dan Torrance finds he isn't the only one with "the shine".

Teaming up with a teenage girl called "Abra", they attempt to fight back against the cult trying to use "the shine" for their own whims. It's going to be a life-or-death struggle as the pair seek to protect themselves and those like them.

Zombieland Double Tap - October 11th, 2019

Zombieland fans have been waiting for this arrival since the original, and it looks like the filmmakers are certainly keeping up the charm. You'll be able to enjoy the antics of some brand new characters, such as Madison, Albuquerque and Flagstaff as well as your old favorites. Not to mention the zombies!

In this sequel, the group will have to take off in search of Little Rock, who has apparently run off with a boy she just met. Not only will they have to fight the power of teenage love, but also the immense numbers of zombies who still roam the landscape in search of human flesh.

3 From Hell - October 31st, 2019

Although this film is just a few months from release, there's still a lot about it that is under wraps. However, we do know that we'll be seeing Captain Spaulding, Baby and Otis as they unleash their special brand of fury on the justice system and anyone else who might get in their way.

On top of our Firefly-family favorites, there are also going to be a number of new characters, victims and villains alike. You may even notice a new face rolling with the siblings as they continue to wreak havoc on everything around them.

IT Chapter Two - September 5th, 2019

Although the children from the previous film have all grown up and moved onto their own lives, there's one vow that causes them to return to their hometown. The discovery of a new group of child disappearances leads them to believe their clown nemesis has returned.

In order to stop Pennywise, the group knows they need keep him from ever returning again. You'll have to watch to find out whether or not they can manage the task, or who might be lost in the process. Make sure you add this one to the top of your list, it won't be long before you can see Pennywise back in action!
